Waikato Muslim Association invites you to buy lunch to raise funds for the upcoming Eid celebration. Eid ul Adha ("the feast of the sacrifice") is the second of Islam's two annual festivals. It is due to occur in late July 2021. "We are planning to hold a celebration for the whole community. This is tentatively scheduled for 24 July," said Asad Mohsin, president of the Association. Hamilton Mosque June 2021 prayer times released

Waikato Muslim Association has released the prayer times for June 2021 (Shawwal to Dhul-Qa’dah 1442 in the Islamic calendar). These include the time for each congregational prayer at the Hamilton Mosque at 921 Heaphy Terrace, Claudelands. The time each prayer begins in Hamilton is given also in case you are unable to make it to the mosque. The times are provided in a PDF document that you can save, download, print and share. Shawwal new moon unsighted - Eid ul Fitr on Friday 14 May

Waikato Muslims will celebrate Eid ul Fitr on Friday 14 May after completing the thirtieth fast of the month of Ramadan on Thursday. The Hilal (crescent moon sighting) Committee of FIANZ earlier confirmed that the new moon for Shawwal was not sighted today. Waikato Muslim Association strongly encourages its members to attempt to sight the new moon of the month of Shawwal in the twilight of Wednesday 12 May 2021 (29 Ramadan 1442H). It is a Sunnah (tradition) of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to go out moon-sighting to seek the new moon of Ramadan and Shawwal.
