The Hamilton Mosque at 921 Heaphy Terrace, Claudelands, Hamilton will remain closed when COVID-19 alert level 4 ends in the Waikato region at 11:59pm on Tuesday 31 August 2021. This is because public venues like masaajid (mosques) must remain closed at alert level 3.
"We will continue to use online methods to provide spiritual support to the community," said Asad Mohsin, President of the Waikato Muslim Association Inc.
"Please follow our Facebook page and subscribe to our YouTube channel where we will share videos of reminders and other talks. Links to these social media channels are available at our website," said Asad Mohsin.
"Please also continue to subscribe to our contact list to receive emails and WhatsApp messages and get in touch with us if you need support," said Asad Mohsin.
Nikah (weddings) or janazah (funerals) may take place at alert level 3 but only up to 10 people can attend these gatherings.
Useful information:Meanwhile, Waikato Muslim Association has released the prayer times for September 2021 (Muharram to Safar 1443 in the Islamic calendar).
These include the time each congregational prayer will happen when the Hamilton Mosque reopens in sha Allah (Allah willing).
Until then, the time each prayer begins in Hamilton is given also.
