The Waikato Muslim Association Inc advises that the Hamilton Masjid at 921 Heaphy Terrace, Claudelands will be open for all daily prayers beginning with Fajr (dawn) prayers on Thursday 24 February 2022.
"We are grateful to everyone for their patience and understanding while the masjid was closed," said Asad Mohsin, President of the Waikato Muslim Association Inc.
The masjid was closed for deep cleaning after it was learned that a COVID-19 positive case visited the masjid for Maghrib (sunset) and Isha (night) prayers on Saturday 19 February.
"We continue to encourage everyone to follow the guidelines for Red under the COVID-19 Protection Framework. This will help minimise the closure of the masjid in future and assist rapid contact tracing," said Asad Mohsin.
