Waikato Muslim Association has released the prayer times for March 2022 (Rajab to Shaban 1443 in the Islamic calendar). We strongly encourage members to attempt to sight the new moon of the month of Shaban in the twilight of Thursday 3 March 2022 (29 Rajab 1443H).
The times are given for each congregational prayer at the Hamilton Masjid at 921 Heaphy Terrace, Claudelands.
The time each prayer begins in Hamilton is given also in case you are unable to make it to the masjid.
The times are provided in a PDF document that you can save, download, print and share.
Printed copies will be available Monday 28 February if Allah wills. Find these in the brochure holders (next to the submission boxes) in the men's and women's lobbies of the Hamilton Masjid and upstairs in the lobby of Waikato Islamic School of Education.

"It is a Sunnah (tradition) of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to go out moon-sighting to seek the new moon of Shaban," said Asad Mohsin, President of the Waikato Muslim Association Inc.
"Shaban is the eighth month of the Islamic calendar and the month immediately prior to Ramadan," said Asad Mohsin.
Moon sightings should be reported urgently to the FIANZ office (04 387 8023) or Sheikh Mohammad Amir (021 2424 560).
If the new moon is sighted, Shaban will start on Friday 4 March. If not, it will start on Saturday 5 March.
Answers to frequently asked questions about moon sighting can be found at the FIANZ website here.
